Disneyland: The Sister Edition (Memorial Day Weekend)

Visit My Trip Report to Disney On President's Day Weekend

On Friday Morning before heading off we went to my sister's sixth grade promotion.

We went to starbucks afterwards and went to have lunch at a thai resturant down the
street. Then, I went to work.

Around 5:45 I arrived home, finished packing, ate Taco Bell and headed off to the airport
at 6:30.

We arrived in the Orange County airport at 10:00 pm, went through baggage claim and
climbed in our shuttle to our hotel. I booked at room at the Hyatt, which I was throughly
pleased with because it was exactly just like it's pictures. The lobby was big and
beautiful and our room was clean, modern and comfortable.

Pros: Starbucks is located inside the lobby, A shuttle comes every thirty minutes to and
from disneyland, Target is right across the street for cheaper snacks and water, located
nearby many different resturants including Grand China, Outback, Red Robin, Joe's Crab
Shack.

Cons: Food in the California Grill was expensive (breakfast buffet was $20/person), Pizza
Hut closed early. Fees are expensive, $15 parking, I stayed at the Sheraton last time and
got late check-out for free, the Hyatt makes you pay for the room for half the day.

Day 2

We woke up the next morning and went down stairs for some starbucks and to wait for the
bus.

As soon as we got inside Disneyland park we headed over to Frontierland.

I've never been to the Tiki Room and saw the show was starting soon. So we ducked in to watch it.

"Tiki tiki tiki room."

I wasn't very impressed with the Tiki Room so we left to get the fast pass for Indiana Jones. It told us to come back between 1:30 and 2:30, so we headed over to my favorite ride, Pirates of the Carribean.

Afterwards, we headed over to the Haunted Mansion and then to Critter Country where we met Pooh and Tigger. It was my second time, but their first.

It was a little bit after lunch time by then so we stopped by a food stand for some
McDonald's French Fries that cost us about $3.00 each. We ate as we walked back to Indiana Jones to use our fast pass.

Linh really liked that ride. It was by far her most favorite at this point. We were ready
to head back to the hotel to rest some, but headed over to tomorrowland first to get the
fast pass to Space Mountain. We stopped by the castle on the way there.

We got a fast pass for 7:30 and headed out towards the front. We saw that Star Tours had a short wait so decided to wait in line for that.

In fantasyland we rode the classic teacups.

We stopped at a gift shop on our way back out, where Linh bought the Mickey hands that she fell in love with as soon as she saw them that morning on someone else.

We got back on our shuttle back to the hotel and went to Target to buy some esscentials
and went for some dinner at Del Taco. We intended on going swimming, but felt lazy and
lounged around our room for a while and headed back to disneyland around 6:00.

We got stuck behing the parade and ducked into frontierland to get another fast pass for
Indiana Jones for later at 10:30. We went over and rode space mountain, which by now replaced indiana jones as Linh's favorite ride.

After space mountain we headed back to frontierland and rode the Haunted Mansion again, thinking it would be scarier at night. Then we walked over to critter country and found that splash mountain was only a ten minute wait.

We came out, wet and cold and looked for a place to watch the fireworks. Afterwards we went on thunder mountain railroad. We were disappointed when we came back at 10:30 to Indiana Jones. The ride was temporaryily shut down so we decided to call it a night.

Day 3

The next day we woke up and arrived at CA Adventures at 10:00.

It was very empty for a memorial day weekend. We waited in line for CA soaring for about 15 minutes and then walked down towards the pier. We walked by grizzly run, the water ride, and saw that it was only a five minutes wait so we decided to go on that ride. When we arrived at the pier, Linh knew right away that she wanted to go on CA screaming.

I think on the first drop I almost died.

I really wanted to catch the Aladdin show so we went to find some food and walked over to the Hollywood backlots to wait for the show. I watched the show last time and can honestly say that it was just as good. They changed some of the jokes too.

When we came out we saw Scully from Monster's Inc.

Next stop, A bug's life.

It was about 3ish so we headed back to the hotel to go swimming.

Then we walked across the street to the Grand China to have some dinner.

We headed back to the park and went to downtown disney, where I bought a sweater from Quicksilver because it was getting cold. We headed back into CA aventure to watch Turtle talk with crush at 8:30. Afterwards we went into the MOnster's Inc. ride.

It was 8:45 now and a small crowd was forming to watch the Electric Parade so we found a seat.

CA Adventures was starting to close so we started walking out towards the front and stopped at a few gift shops on the way.

We headed back to disneyland because it didn't close until midnight. Earlier we got the fast past for Indiana Jones and Space Mountain. We still had a little time until Indiana Jones so we got another fast past for Thunder Mountain Railroad and then got in line again for Pirates of the Carribean.

Day 4

The next day we got room service, took our time to pack up our stuff and checked out around 11:30.

This first thing we did was head over to Toon Town, since we had not been there yet.

We rode the Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin.

...and waited in line to see Mickey.

Afterwards, we went over to the Princess Fantasy Faire and watched Snow White tell a story.

Then we went over the the new Pirate's Lair to seek buried teasure.

After watching a Pirate show we headed back to tomorrowland to eat and go on the Astro Orbiter ride.

Only an hour until we had to the airport we went searching for souvenirs to end our trip with a pocket full of goodies.

Dreams really do come true....
